Year 2 Health Week

We have had a great week this week for health week. We have been very busy talking about ways in which we can stay healthy. We even made a poster to share these. We have had a jam packed week. Take a look at what weve been up to! On Monday we thought of different ways to help our body relax and completed a Jigsaw and yoga session. On Tuesday we tasted different types of fruit and our favourite was strawberries. We weren’t a fan of the grapefuit, it was little sour! Some of our amazing Year 1 and Year 5 children took part in a bowling competition alongside other schools in Sunderland. We had lots of fun.

The year 1 team won medals and certificates for coming 4th place in the competition and the year 5 team won medals and certificates for coming 2nd place in the competition.

A huge shout out to Brendan Dorothy (Year 5) who had the highest overall score in the whole competition and a massive well done to Jae Gladstone (Year 5) and Logan Storey (Year 5) for the highest number of strikes and spares.

Disability Sport…

The Foundation of Light work with us to enable our children to experience a range of sports but with a disability. They encourage the children to wear blindfolds to experience blindness whilst playing sport and some of the games they played on their bottoms to experience what it is like for those children who difficulty using their legs. It is a great experience and one that really stirs empathy and understanding further in our children. We look forward to welcoming Disability Sport back this year.
