Homes and Families

We have been discussing the different people who are in our family such as nana, grandad, cousin, auntie and uncle. We have looked at our own family photographs and used these titles to name the people in our photos. The teachers have really tried to encourage us to use these titles and to use this new vocabulary we have heard and learnt. We then drew our own family portraits and the teachers helped us to label our drawings.

We have also looked at different houses and discussed the houses that we live in. We used Google maps to find our homes. We then began to think about the rooms in our homes and the items that belong in that particular room. We played interactive games to name the items and Kim’s game to help develop our houses and homes related vocabulary.

We have created houses out of blocks and talked about the different rooms.  We looked at our bedroom and had range of objects that we discussed and cut out if they went into that room or not.
