Science Week
We have really enjoyed celebrating Science week! At Southwick, we do a lot of work and learning about Space. So, for Science week, we decided to stick with the theme of space and had a whole school focus on Mars.

Our wonderful year 6 children organised a fayre for all of our children to attend in order to raise money for Comic Relief.
We had lots of fun this week celebrating British Science Week. Take a look at who really impressed their teachers during this week!
Year 6 went to the old site of The Wearmouth Colliery where the Stadium of Light now sits. We learned all about the history of the area and our mining heritage.
We went to the museum for a workshop on evolution and inheritance.
Year 6 took part in a very informative anti-racism workshop at the Beacon of Light.
Our wonderful year 6 children were amazing representatives of our school when taking part in an athletics competition at Monkwearmouth Academy.
