Year 1 were so excited by the challenge set from the team at VolkerStein, to build a bridge. We worked well in our teams, listening to others and their ideas and came up with some fabulous designs. As a treat for winning the singing square, Year 1 went outside to toast marshmallows around the firepit. We learnt the rules of the firepit and then sang songs. We came back and drank hot chocolate to warm up. We had an amazing time.
Year 1 explored the Christmas Story in Holy Trinity Church today. We discussed the story and then worked as a team to make props to support our re-enactment of the story. We had an amazing time.

Year 1 have had an amazing time learning about Remembrance day. We created our own poppies, thinking and writing about how the soldiers would have felt. We walked to the Cenotaph and placed them carefully and respectfully, showing we remember. We created our own trenches in our English lesson and were shocked at how the soldiers lived.
