Year 2 have had a terrific day learning ‘how to be a scientist’ at the centre for life. On Wednesday the KS2 show club took part in the Sunderland Dance festival, which took place at the Sunderland Empire. The girls worked very hard rehearsing and making their costume and had a fantastic day performing and being able to go back stage at the empire! Well done girls, you did Southwick very proud.

In D&T we have been creating our very own moveable animals. We started this project by looking at animals that were already made out of card. We evaluated these products and discussed why we liked them and suggested improvements. We also discussed how they were environmentally friendly. We had a very special visit from Angela’s Ark. Angela brought lots of animals into school for us to look at. We learnt about each animals habitats, adaptations and what they eat. We even got to hold them! we think the yellow crested gecko was our favorite, we loved when it jumped!
