Year 6 fruit tasting and staying active on the yard…

Year 6 Climbing Wall…

Year 4 have been fruit tasting

As part of Health Week 2022, we are learning all about the importance of being healthy. One way we can do this is by eating healthy foods and having a balanced diet.
Today, we tasted a range of different fruits. Some of the fruits we hadn’t even tasted before and we were really surprised that we actually liked them! We are going to ask our parents to get some for us to eat at home so we can stay healthy.

Today we learned that electricity is the flow of electrons around a circuit so we became a circuit and used an energy stick to see the electrons flow! We matched circuit symbols to their real life counterparts and used circuit components to make simple circuits.

Year 4 River Wear Walk

Year 4 have been learning all about rivers. We have looked at the structure of a river and some famous rivers from around the world.
As we are lucky enough to live close to a river, we decided to walk along and look at the different features we could see. We visited the mouth of the River Wear at Roker and then walked back along the river towards Southwick. We noticed how the river became narrower as we moved away from the mouth. We also noticed the meanders and discussed the erosion and deposition.
