Year 3 braved the icy weather and took their learning outside this week. In history, we have been learning about The Stone Age and how they used art to communicate as they didn’t have an alphabet to write about what they had done. The children analysed a variety of cave art pieces and then created their own on the walls of the school. Take a look at their masterpieces!
This week. we used our prior knowledge of circuits to introduce using a switch-we didn’t tell the children how to use them, they investigated, problem solved and worked it out themselves-they were amazing! The children then decided to make a human circuit and test whether they could light a bulb-they soon realised our bodies don’t have the same effect as a battery!

Year 5 went to the Esports Performance Centre at The Place, Sunderland. We learnt all about the Esports Industry and the careers we could have, and even took part in an Esports tournament. We had an amazing time and would love to back there again.
12 girls from Year 3 went to Wildcats Football at Goals. We learnt lots of different skills and played lots of fun and exciting games . The girls were amazing and really enjoyed learning new skills and working together as a team. Well done all of you!

Y3 have been learning about the artist, Jackson Pollock, and his unusual style of art. Jackson Pollock used a technique called ‘drip painting’ to create his pieces of art. The children tried to recreate his technique by creating their very own drip paintings.
