Year 4 were given samples of soil from Mars to investigate if Mars had ever sustained life. We inspected each sample closely before making a prediction as to which sample could contain life. Lola Smith sketched and painted her nana this wonderful giraffe for her birthday. She worked on it at home for 3 days and 6 hours and has blown us all away with her wonderful art skills-well done Lola!

We had an amazing time today and all got into the spirit of dressing as our very favourite book characters. We read lots of stories and created our own characters and settings too-we had a great day!
The British Library hosted fairy stories with Michael Rosen, Jasbinder Bilan and Allen Fatimaharan and year 4 took part to start off World Book Week. Class 6 decided they needed a new reading corner so we linked it to our theme of space and it is out of this world! The children love it!
At the end of Spring 1, the whole school took part in a maths problem solving day focusing on the problem solving strand of conjecturing. Each maths group worked with a different conjecture and used their maths skills and knowledge to investigate it. Year have been investigating what makes a good non chronological report. They each chose an animal linked to their text ‘we’re going on a lion hunt’ and research some facts which they could use in their writing.
