Our new art unit is ‘textiles’ and we have been experimenting weaving using different maerials-we were excellent too!
Year 1 has been learning all about different types of materials and their properties. We have been conducting experiments to what materials were waterproof and could float. We used our knowledge on materials to design our own boats, before making them and testing them to see if they would float. We were so excited to see that all our boats floated!
Year 2 have begun their gymnastics unit in P.E this week. We have learnt how to do long, thin shapes along with fat, short shapes. We will be putting them together to form a sequence. It was fabulous to see so many children with their P.E kits and enjoying their gymnastics!
We were sooooo excited today to have a visit from Father Christmas himself! We chased him but didn’t touch him incase the magic disappeared-it was so much fun!

All of the adults and children loved completing different bauble crafts, decorating a cake into a polar bear, reading Christmas stories, colouring and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows. We had a great visit to the church where we listened to the Nativity story, sang traditional hymns, built a stable, dressed up in nativity clothes and completed a sheep craft. We finished our session by signing we wish you a merry Christmas! We certainly all now feel in the Christmas spirit!
Last Friday we had a wonderful time in school watching the panto ‘The Littlest Elf Christmas Show’. We enjoyed dancing with Pip the elf and loved hearing her story of how she was the littlest elf but helped Santa.
This Harvest Festival the children decided instead of donating money to a charity they would dedicate time and effort into looking after our planet. After hosting our first Community Litter Pick and planting more than 100 trees; the next issue we focussed on was the problem with England’s ever growinglandfills. We live on a beautiful planet with limited resources. The children believe that unlimited consumerism
