To celebrate Halloween we have made our own pumpkins. We used clay to create the shape and detail on the pumpkin, then learn how to tint and tone colours to make them lighter and darker. Once our pumpkins were dry we used our new tinting and toning skills to paint different shades of orange and green onto our pumpkins! We can not wait to
Glynn Fidgeon came in from his Judo school to give us a taster session. We had an amazing session and learned several moves and now have the chance to join!

This morning, Glynn came to teach us some basic judo moves. He showed us how to warm up our bodies and then how to hold, pin and ‘throw’ an opponent. Judo is about control and respect but also having fun! Here are some photos from our workshop.
Year 6 took part in a very informative anti-racism workshop at the Beacon of Light.
Our wonderful year 6 children were amazing representatives of our school when taking part in an athletics competition at Monkwearmouth Academy.
We were invited to the inter-schools skipping festival at the Beacon of Light where we learned lots of different skipping skills-we were amazing and had a great time!
This week we have been looking at the season change from Summer to Autumn. We went on an Autumn walk and looked for seasonal change. We talked about the fallen leaves and colder temperatures, we then collected autumn leaves and made some beautiful autumn art. We became weather reporters and predicted the weather for this week before checking each day if our prediction was
Year 2 have been learning all about the Great Fire of London. They have investigated why the fire spread so fast around the city. We tested paper houses and discussed how the materials of the houses in 1666 made them burn so quickly and many collapsed. Here are photos of our trip to the fire pit.
