World Anatomy Day Assembly
Today we were very lucky as Professor Debs Patten who works at the University of Sunderland visited our school to deliver a very exciting assembly.
Year 1 Our homes and families
This week we have been talking about our homes and families. We loved using Google maps to give directions from our house to school. We looked at the local landmarks and discussed which ones we see on our journey to school. We looked at different types of housing and how all families are different. Year 1 all about me
This term we are exploring the topic ‘all about me’. We loved reading the story Elmer and shared our ideas about how we are all unique and special. We retold the story, designed our own elephant masks, and even went on our own Elmer parade. We designed our own Elmer’s using different materials, and looked at the similarities the Elmer design has with the
Year 2 Maths
Year 2 have been learning about place value to 100, investigating the tens and ones in numbers. We had to match the tens and ones to the correct number. There were some tricky ones so we had to look carefully!
Year 2 Local Area Walk
Year 2 have been on a walk around the local area to see if they could spot what makes buildings look old and new. We looked at the type of bricks and discovered that some buildings have dates on them, showing when they were built. We are going to use this information to build a time line of how Southwick has changed and developed.
