Year 5 have been studying the Ancient Greeks. As part of this work we have looked at Greek food and carried out taste testing. We enjoyed making our own Greek salads and tzatziki.

In D&T we have been creating our very own moveable animals. We started this project by looking at animals that were already made out of card. We evaluated these products and discussed why we liked them and suggested improvements. We also discussed how they were environmentally friendly. Year 5 have been enjoying working with Mrs Hughes to develop our skills in tag rugby.
Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed our fun filled Greek day. We had a special visit from Zeus who taught us all about the ways of the ancient Greek people.
During Science week, each class in school took part in a ‘curly wurly’ challenge to see who could stretch their ‘curly wurly’ (we used play-doh) the furthest!
At Southwick we have had so much fun celebrating British Science Week. The theme was ‘growth’ and each year group enjoyed exploring ‘growth’ in different ways.
Year 1 have been learning about the main parts of the Easter Story. We looked at what happened over Easter Week and then looked for symbols for why we celebrate Easter today. We had great fun role playing the story and thinking about using different facial expressions for how the characters could be feeling.
We teamed up with members of the SARA project to clean up the area!
