Did you know that the Guiness World Record for a Curly Wurly stretch is 4.26 metres? It was accomplished under three minutes by Tracy Sullivan in 2015!
During Science week, each class in school took part in a ‘curly wurly’ challenge to see who could stretch their ‘curly wurly’ (we used play-doh) the furthest! We made sure it was fair by ensuring we all weighed out and used the same amount of play-doh (26 grams) and that we timed ourselves when rolling out and stretching the play-doh (3 minutes). We then took measurements of our play-doh after the 3 minutes using different pieces of equipment. Prizes were given to the winners from each class. The overall winners in the whole school were Lucas Hubbert and Jayden Tumwijukye with a whopping 113.5cm!
