Year 3 – Outdoor Learning

As part of our geography topic, the children have been learning about how the locality of the school has changed in the last 70 years, and how this has affected hedgehog numbers. Today, we compared maps of Southwick from the 1950’s until today and looked at how ‘green spaces’ have drastically declined. We decided to walk around our school grounds to look for suitable habitats for hedgehogs. We found that we don’t really have that many great habitats for them so this is something we are looking to improve.
