Here are some of the fantastic things we have been doing this year…
We have been enjoying playing tag rugby this term. Our teachers were so impressed by our team work and resilience!
Year 5 had an amazing visit to the Great North Museum and learned about Greek warriors and what Spartan life was like. They also toured the museum looking for artefacts.
Design & Technology
We have enjoyed tasting some Greek food as part of our new DT unit looking at Greek cuisine.
Mini Police
The mini police had a fantastic first trip out in their new roles. They visited the Stadium of Light and took part in a tour.
World Book Day 📚
Year 5 have amazed us with their fantastic World Book Day costumes. How fantastic do they all look!
PE
This term we are taking part in gymnastics. We are enjoying buidling our skills and choreographing our own routines in small groups. Look at some of our amazing balances.
Mini Police
We are excited to introduce our most recent Mini Police recruits. In a special assembly, the new members of the Mini Police were given their uniform.
Maths! Maths ! Maths!
Math’s Day! Our focus was money and we had fun designing our own park within a set budget.
Beamish
We had an amazing day at Beamish learning all about life as an evacuee. We also thoroughly enjoyed visiting the sweet shop too!
PE
Year 5 loved playing badminton during our PE lessons in Autumn term.

We were challenged with making a new moving toy in Design & Technology. We learned all about CAMS and practiced making some prototypes.
Year 5 enjoyed looking at some old aerial photos of Sunderland. We compared old and new photos to identify any changes.
